Electronic music is music that employs electronic instruments and technology in its production. An electronic musician is one who composes and/or performs such music. The advent of electronics was either to diminish or make the once-considered expensive and elitist big band more accessible to the upcoming musician no matter one’s background.

Today we’d focus on the cabaret. Cabaret is a form of entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation or drama. It is mainly distinguished by the performance venue, such as in a restaurant, pub or nightclub with a stage for performances. The audience, often dining or drinking, does not typically dance but usually sits at tables - William Bolcom, Joan Morris, Marc-Andre Hamelin, Sasha Cooke.
